The Campaign Overview for Ware Academy

Rigorous academics encourage and inform growing and curious minds. Physical activities through sports and active play allow young students to grow into strong, healthy teens. Community engagement-both on campus and beyond – creates a deeper development of character and understanding. The three traits of Mind, Body, and Character embody the values of Ware Academy, and for the students who matriculate from WARE, opportunities arise.

The plan approved by members of the Board of Trustees will cost $3 million and will be funded by private philanthropic gifts from a broad community of donors – like you – who believe in the impact of a Ware education. The multi-phase plan will enhance academic and extra-curricular offerings on campus and allow Ware to meet the demands of a growing waiting pool of students eager to attend Ware Academy.

The Upper Elementary Classroom and Technology Lab:

$1.5M

Integral to the capital campaign is the construction of a 5,000 square foot facility to provide classroom space to enhance the upper elementary classes. The building will house 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades while maintaining the current, low teacher to student ratio and a technology lab designed to facilitate learning activities.

Contemporary classroom design will embrace current teaching and learning methods that no longer focus on a traditional lecturing style. In order for collaborative learning to take place, classrooms must be larger, with greater technology and space for group exploration. A dedicated state-of-the-art technology lab will be established to complement the innovative classrooms.

Site Development/ Infrastructure Enhancements: $1.3 M

Safety and access are always at the forefront as Ware expands its campus facilities. The new building will necessitate new turning lanes on John Clayton Memorial Highway and infrastructure investments that will support expansion on campus to better serve our families. Additionally, the campaign will include upgraded parking on campus with appropriate lighting and landscaping.  The expansion will allow Ware to increase its enrollment to 232 students.

Thanks to cost-effective and creative planning, grading and excavating work associated with the construction of the upper elementary classroom will allow Ware to create a practice field to accommodate baseball/softball. This will expand athletic opportunities for students and enhance the overall learning environment for kids.

Outdoor Experiential Learning:

$200,000

Experiential learning is a hallmark of a Ware education, and there is no greater example than turning a stormwater management system into an ecosystem for inquisitive minds. An Observation Dock and Outdoor Classroom will provide real world learning experiences while taking advantage of the 21 acres that make up the Ware campus.

Construction is slated to begin in the summer of 2024, or once 70% to 80% of pledges toward our $3 million goal are received. The time frame for construction will last approximately seven months.

We invite you to support Ware Academy’s mission and our students. Your participation preserves Ware’s legacy and invests in the leaders of tomorrow.
